XII-Accounting Solved Papers

The paper pattern of XII Accounting till 2009 was simple, There is no section in the paper. Students are required to attempt any five (5) questions out of eight (8) questions. The syllabus consist of the following topics:

• SINGLE ENTRY SYSTEM (Pure Single Entry, Mixed Single Entry, Statement of Profit and Loss, Statement of Affairs)
• CONSIGNMENT ACCOUNTING
• ACCOUNTING FOR DEPRECIATION (Cost of Fixed Asset, Entries to Purchase Fixed Asset, Methods of Depreciation Including Straight Line Method, Units Production Method, Working Hours Method, Diminishing Balance Method, Sum of the Year’s Digit Method, Adjusting & Closing Entries of Depreciation, T-Accounts, Partial Balance Sheet)
• PARTNERSHIP FORMATION (General Journal Entries, Initial Balance Sheet)
• PARTNERSHIP DISTRIBUTION OF PROFIT AND LOSS (Income Distribution Summary, General Journal Entries, T-Accounts using Fixed Capital Method & Fluctuating Capital Method)
• PARTNERSHIP LIQUIDATION (Liquidation Summary, General Journal Entries, T-Accounts)
• PARTNERSHIP RETIREMENT (Sell of Interest Method, Bonus Method, Goodwill Method, Revaluation Method)
• PARTNERSHIP ADMISSION (Purchase of Interest Method, Bonus Method, Goodwill Method, Sufficient Cash Method, Mix Method, revaluation Method)
• ISSUANCE OF SHARES AND DEBENTURES (General Journal Entries, Balance Sheet)
• RESERVES AND FUNDS / RETAINED EARNINGS

In 2010, the Board of Intermediate Education, Karachi has changed the paper pattern of Accounting. Paper consists of three sections. Section – A for Multiple Choice Questions containing 20 MCQs of 20 marks, Section – B for short answer questions containing 7 questions are students are required to attempt any 5 questions of 10 marks each (total marks 50) and Section – C containing three part questions out which students are required to attempt any two part questions of 15 marks each (total 30 marks).
Board had also made some changes during these years like:

• Consignment Accounting was removed from syllabus.
• ACCOUNTING FOR NON PROFIT CONCERN was included in the syllabus in 2002.
• Only Pure Single Entry System is included in the syllabus.
• Sum of the Year’s Digit Method also removed from the topic DEPRECIATION.
